Essie — Summer Collection 2012

When I say that Essie's new collection for Summer 2012 is drool-worthy, I am being literal. I opened the email, looked at the photo and I swear to you that I salivated like a polish-loving Pavlov pet. This set is a perfect ten. Well, technically a perfect six, but you know what I mean.

Naturally, I must assort this perfect lineup in priority order because I can't — I musn't — buy them all.

Essie — Poppy-Razzi Collection

Neon is back in a big way — and has been for a while. In fact, Essie had a fantastic neon collection a couple summers ago that was a daring dip into neon years before the trend exploded. I can't blame them for wanting to continue capitalizing on the fluorescent fad while they can! Here's a snapshot of Essie's new collection for Summer 2012: Poppy-Razzi.

I love the entire collection... but I have enough neon pinks, already have a neon red I love (Orly Hot Shot), neon oranges are a piece of cake to find, and that Essie Action is looking remarkably similar to China Glaze Sun Worshiper. I'm eager to see some swatches and comparisons for this set.

That said, the tip of painting your nails a creamy white as a base to make your neons really glow is a good note to take.

OPI — Barre My Soul & Pirouette My Whistle

Jennifer, the winner of OPI's SoftShades "New York City Ballet" Collection, was kind enough to send some photos of her elegant manicure — and included a very sweet note! Jennifer writes,

I'm particularly excited that I won this OPI collection (I never ever win anything!) because I am an adult ballet student, have been for the past 5 years! So I feel really lucky I get to wear this nail polish in ballet class.

You've got to admit, Jennifer was the perfect person to win this OPI set!
