CHANEL Holiday 2012 Collection — Éclats du Soir de CHANEL

I always love to share the Chanel news that makes its way to my inbox. So what's the haps? Chanel is promoting its Holiday 2012 collection, "Éclats du Soir de Chanel." (Per Google Translate, this seems to mean "Evening Bursts." Mademoiselles, souhaitez-vous s'il vous plaît me traduire?)

So, notice anything... amusing?

The Holiday 2012 polish is called "Malice."

Granted, it is a devilish red but... oh come on, this is hilarious! The big question is if this oh-so-apropos name was happenstance... or a deliberate nod to the dark undercurrent of animosity that accompanies holiday get-togethers (in some families, at least). Teehee!

OPI — GoldenEye

Happy Meowlloween, kittens! I hope you enjoyed reading about my Top Ten as much as I enjoyed writing about them! Now, back to business.

I've got another color from the OPI Skyfall James Bond Collection to share with you: GoldenEye*.

GoldenEye is a bright, flashy yellow gold. I would say it's less like 14k warm, classic gold and more like every kid's favorite Hanukkah candy, gelt.

The base of GoldenEye is a rosy yellow-orange. The glitter is unusual; to me this seems like more of a really dense flakie. The gold flakes appear irregular.

This color is not for the faint of heart. It's on the loud side for sure. It doesn't just say, "Look at me!" — it screams it. So be prepared for a lot of attention if you end up sporting GoldenEye.

GoldenEye was the perfect color to go with my Halloween costume because I needed something over-the-top and shiny. And definitely something GOLD. Why you ask? Because I was going to be a hamburger. Yes, a hamburger.

Yes! A GlamBurger! I bought some neon green tulle to serve as my "Lettuce Wrap," added some much needed American Cheese to the neckline and created some ginormous cheeseburgers for my... buns.

What did you guys dress up as for Halloween? And of course I want to know, did your nails play a starring role in your costume?

OPI — The World Is Not Enough

I was so excited to get my paws on the new James Bond Skyfall Collection from OPI. Three colors were especially alluring, so I needed your help to narrow down which one I'd try first! GoldenEye, Casino Royal and The World Is Not Enough went head to head, and one emerged victorious. I am pleased to share The World Is Not Enough with you guys!

But first, let's look at a couple pictures of the star of Skyfall, the blondest Bond, the macho man, the hunk-a-hunk of burning homme that is... DANIEL CRAIG.

And now moving on to my review of The World Is Not Enough, or "TWINE."* First off, WOW. Not what I expected! It is called a "rosy pewter" by OPI, and, while I can see how those adjectives apply, they do not do this color justice.

TWINE is a chameleon color; it's pewter, it's plum, it's mushroom, it's graphite. It's filled with the tiniest specks of multi-colored microglitter; bits of mint and fuchsia, purple and silver. TWINE is gorgeous. It's already one of my favorite colors in my Stash.

Since I just put it on, I can't tell you how the formula wear, but I can tell you how it goes on. It's somewhat sheer, so the color is buildable. I put on three thin coats for MAXIMUM SPARKLEOCITY. Check out the photos below to experience TWINE.

So what do you guys think? I am so pleased with your choice!

xxo, Francesca

P.S. I leave you with 60 seconds of pure Daniel Craig.

James Bond Skyfall Collection by OPI

Oh, I just LOVE the smell of fresh polish, don't you? What a perfect Friday surprise — the Skyfall Collection just arrived at my doorstep. Wheee!

I must say, there are some inventive colors, some new twists on classic shades and glitter. James Bond is a secret agent who knows how to slip under the (proverbial and literal) radar, so it's kind of funny to me that these colors are anything but inconspicuous. This is one attention-grabbing, jaw-dropping collection!

In fact, I don't even know where to begin! I need your input. Will you please help me choose which shade to model for you guys? Vote now, because I'll paint the winner on my nails Sunday night!
