Perfect Match — BaubleBar & Essie Collaboration!

Talk about a match made in heaven! (Or hell, if you're trying to manage your cash flow...) BaubleBar and Essie have teamed up in a genius way.

BaubleBar eyed this collection and thought... Nice shades, Essie. So pretty, so shiny, so jewel-like. Why don't we make a collection using these exact colors? Say whaaa?

With the holidays coming up, what better treat for the nail polish-loving ladies in your life? At $50, it's an affordable indulgence that'll give you a lot of bang for your buck: one full-size polish, one perfectly matching bangle, plus two other BaubleBar bracelets all inside a shiny little bag that's just begging to be repurposed.

Red, White, Blue Is In the Sky

Ladies & Gents, For those of us here in the United States, it's a big day. Election Day.

Please make every effort you can to get out there and vote. There are countless reasons why, but the most important is this: the outcome of this election will, without a doubt, impact you directly.

Take the time to do your part so that, when results are revealed, you can take pride (or take solace) in the fact that you voted for the choices you believe in, the platforms you support, and the men you trust to lead our nation.

What happens after you cast your ballot is what we call democracy. Or computer hacking. J/k, j/k. (?) Take what control you have, and use it!

And now, some patriotic suggestions for you:

CHANEL Holiday 2012 Collection — Éclats du Soir de CHANEL

I always love to share the Chanel news that makes its way to my inbox. So what's the haps? Chanel is promoting its Holiday 2012 collection, "Éclats du Soir de Chanel." (Per Google Translate, this seems to mean "Evening Bursts." Mademoiselles, souhaitez-vous s'il vous plaît me traduire?)

So, notice anything... amusing?

The Holiday 2012 polish is called "Malice."

Granted, it is a devilish red but... oh come on, this is hilarious! The big question is if this oh-so-apropos name was happenstance... or a deliberate nod to the dark undercurrent of animosity that accompanies holiday get-togethers (in some families, at least). Teehee!

OPI — GoldenEye

Happy Meowlloween, kittens! I hope you enjoyed reading about my Top Ten as much as I enjoyed writing about them! Now, back to business.

I've got another color from the OPI Skyfall James Bond Collection to share with you: GoldenEye*.

GoldenEye is a bright, flashy yellow gold. I would say it's less like 14k warm, classic gold and more like every kid's favorite Hanukkah candy, gelt.

The base of GoldenEye is a rosy yellow-orange. The glitter is unusual; to me this seems like more of a really dense flakie. The gold flakes appear irregular.

This color is not for the faint of heart. It's on the loud side for sure. It doesn't just say, "Look at me!" — it screams it. So be prepared for a lot of attention if you end up sporting GoldenEye.

GoldenEye was the perfect color to go with my Halloween costume because I needed something over-the-top and shiny. And definitely something GOLD. Why you ask? Because I was going to be a hamburger. Yes, a hamburger.

Yes! A GlamBurger! I bought some neon green tulle to serve as my "Lettuce Wrap," added some much needed American Cheese to the neckline and created some ginormous cheeseburgers for my... buns.

What did you guys dress up as for Halloween? And of course I want to know, did your nails play a starring role in your costume?

My Top Ten \ Number Ten: Cirque — Dark Horse

So here we are. The final polish to round out my Top Ten.

It is... :::drum roll, please::: DARK HORSE from New York-based indie brand Cirque.

Cirque is more expensive than your OPI /Essie brands, but not as costly as Ye Olde Chanel. It's like Deborah Lippmann / butter LONDON in terms of the price point.

This color is one of my top ten faves because, as you know, I love GLITTAH. This polish has a sheer graphite base and is filled with teeny, tiny multicolored bits of glitter. I plan to wear this as a mani soon so that I can share some pics with you. In the meantime, allow me to direct you to some of our favorite (and famous) swatchers out there: Scrangie and Nails and Noms.

Indeed! I think "Dark Horse" captures the mysterious nature of this color, but I would have called it something like... Black Magic. Doesn't it just scream "sorceress" to you?

Now, this is just a thought, but if you're hankering for the infamous VHTF My Private Jet Holo by OPI, why not consider buying Dark Horse instead? In fact, with the layered and prismatic glitter effect plus the jelly base, this polish is sort of like a lovechild of MPJ Holo and Essie SSN.
