Spotted: Stiletto Done Right

There I was, battling the masses at Target. I was on the defensive. My mission was to get in, get out and OH why hello there... Distraction! Gold glitter! Peachy orange! A stiletto nail!

I spotted Kia, who was sporting a wearable version on the on-trend stiletto nail. Note how her nails taper to a subtle point but avoid looking like sharp daggers. She also chose a girly, friendly peach instead of a dark vamp or blood red shade. It keeps the mood light and playful instead of dark and deadly.

Nice work, Kia! (And nice to meet ya.) ;)

nails INC. — Neon & Nude Collection

Oh my. This Spring & Summer, it's all about neon juxtaposed with nude. Rather than shell out a bunch of cash trying to find several bottles to suit the season, may I humbly recommend a nails INC set I just stumbled upon.

Here are the shades:

  • Porchester Square (muted mushroom)
  • Jermyn Street (perfect taupe)

Word on the street is that the nudes dry down a little darker than the bottle may indicate. For $25, it's worth the gamble! You can pick this up at ye olde Sephora, of course!

Lemon yellow nails. Not the obvious choice, I will admit, but my manicure received a lot of attention this week! This was my first time ever wearing yellow and I was so pleased with the results. Really, yellow is not much different from gold. If you've rocked warm metallics in the past, then I'd like to nominate this sunny shade to brighten up your week!

In other news, a friend at work let me check out a book she got at a yard sale. OPI "I'm Not Really A Waitress." It's a look back at their early ad campaigns and best-selling colors. I'll be posting more on that later.
